Text Message Updates are Here!

Ever wanted to know the latest news and updates from Oklahoma DeMolay as soon as possible? Ever wanted to get that information right on your mobile phone? Well, now you can! The Oklahoma DeMolay Website Team is pleased to announce the launch of a very cool new service, ODA Text Messaging!
By subscribing to the ODA Text Messaging Service, you can receive the most up-to-date information from both our State Master Councilor and our Executive Officer. It's easy, just jump over to the subscription page, or click on the big SUBSCRIBE NOW link in the side menu and follow the instructions. Within minutes you will be signed up to receive important news and updates from the leaders of our state.
This service was designed specifically for ODA by our very own web development team, so you don't have to worry about some other company having your phone number. With any new service, we are going to have our share of "glitches", so bare with us while we work through all the kinks. If you have any problems or questions, don't hesitate to contact us, we will try to respond as quickly as possible. Enjoy the new service!

Forums, Past State Officers, and more

Wow, it is hard to believe that it has already been a week since we were able to get the new site layout up and going. Time sure does fly!
Well, we have another batch of updates to the site that I wanted to let everyone know about. First off, we have fixed the issues with the forums, and they are now back up and running. We also created a new sub domain for the forums so that it is easier to get to them without going through the site. You can access them either by going to the Resources menu of the site, or going directly to forums.okdemolay.com
Along with the forums corrections, we also went through and cleaned up several areas that had some issues relating to the site update. We also brought back up a few pages that had gone down, like the Past State Officers pages. We are currently working with Dad Singleton to get the Scholarships page updated with new information and restructured to better fit the new site design. Be on the look out for that update soon.
The state officers also had a hand in a few important updates. This included an update to the State Officers' Corner to include all of the new projects for the coming months, as well as all the DeMolay Month information from our State Senior Councilor. Along with these updates, we have also give our State Master Councilor his own blog!! Keep your eyes pealed for his first post, I'm sure it will be good.
Lastly, we work on the forms page, getting all of the forms into an RSS feed and connected to the sites download manager. This is used to better control downloads and give the users of our site a better experience. Overall, you shouldn't notice any difference related to this. In the form update, we included the new Chapter of the Year forms along with a new RD form. Check out the News List for more info on that.
There will be lots more to come in the future, so make sure to check back as often as possible!

What's this? A Blog you say? I have never heard of such a thing!
Well, as I was making updates to the site today, I realized that sending out lots of emails, or posting lots of news articles about the updates just wasn't very efficient, so I decided it was high time to try out one of the many new features gained with the new CMS that the ODA site is now based on - a blog. Don't worry, I am no stranger to the blogging community, but this will be the first time I will use this particular blogging engine, so we'll see how it does.
For now, this will be a place I will use to make announcements about new and exciting features or important updates to the site. As the site solidifies, I will start to transition this into a place where I can introduce and discuss various aspects of technology which might be useful to anyone or everyone within the ODA family. So be sure to check back frequently, because no one wants to be the last one to find out about all the great things on the ODA website.
