Guthrie Scottish Rite Scholarship

The Guthrie Scottish Rite Charitable and Educational Foundation is one of the many philanthropic branches of the Masonic fraternity – the world’s largest and most respected fraternity for men. It is a no-profit, tax-exempt, philanthropic corporation that serves several important charitable needs. One of these benevolent programs is a scholarship fund offered especially to young men that are active in the Order of DeMolay. This scholarship is offered to those who desire to further their education beyond the high school level and must have financial help to do so. These scholarships are distributed directly to the school the
student has selected for his continuing education.

The rules are simple. Every student selected to receive this scholarship must have at least a 3.0 GPA through high school on a 4.0 scale and must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours for the first semester of college.

If you have an interest in applying for these funds, simply complete this application and return it to the Guthrie Scottish Rite Foundation by May 1.

Selection of scholarship recipients is based upon several factors, including; overall GPA, financial need, activity in DeMolay, other organizational or educational
activities, etc. If you feel your personal circumstances are such that you may be selected for our scholarship, we will be most pleased to review all the information you submit.

You can be assured every application received is thoroughly reviewed.

Thank you for considering the Guthrie Scottish Rite Scholarship Program. If you complete and submit our application, you will be informed in June whether or not you have been selected. We wish you the best in pursuing your education. It is one of the noblest of personal aims.
Robert G. Davis, Foundation Secretary

Interested in winning some cash? How does $300 sound? Or better yet, $1,500?

Each year, the Kach Essay Competition awards $300 to each Region winner (two winners from each of DeMolay's eight regions) and $1,200 to each of the two national winners. For the two national winners, that's $1,500 each!

Turn that spare time into cash... express your feelings on a thought provoking issue... use your computer skills... and walk away a winner! It must be emphasized, this is not a scholarship. Winnings are paid in cash and each winner can spend his award as he chooses. $300 or $1500 would be a good start toward school expenses.

Oklahoma Masonic Youth

Oklahoma Masons care about your future – because it’s our future too. We’ve expanded the scholarship program for members of DeMolay, Rainbow and Job’s Daughters. It’s one more good reason to remain active in your Order. I’m writing to all the members for whom I have an address. That means, of course, that some of you are not yet ready for college, and some of you may have already graduated. But, if college is still in your future, remember that the scholarship
program will be there for you if you are still in good standing in your Order when the time comes; and if you have graduated, please pass the information on to a younger member.

The amount of the scholarship is $1,000 a year, and you can also qualify for it in subsequent years.
Here are the pertinent facts:

  • When you have qualified for a Masonic Youth Scholarship, you can apply the following year by maintaining an overall GPA of 2.5.
  • Applications will be accepted from majority (senior) members, with no age cap.
  • There will be 30 scholarships among Rainbow, DeMolay and Job’s Daughters.
  • There is no longer a requirement that you remain active in the Order in subsequent years, because we know that a working college student may not be physically able to do so.
